Wow, I am actually semi speachless. I do not know of any specific links that are 'liberal', but every time I watch tv - and or watch tv after a debate - all I see is a left viewpoint. I am stunned that someone thinks differently. I, actually, in my naive stance figured all liberals felt pretty good about that.

All I've heard are complaints that the truth about the war and Bush are not being broadcasted.

Interesting.

A bunch of things...

(1) All of my socialist political science professors (a la Joe Miller) considered the New York Times to be the most credible newsource. We could use the Chicago Tribune or the Wall Street Journal for our papers, but really they preferred the NYT. Online news sources (except those with newsprint affiliates) were not acceptable. That was in 1998, but even so it should be noted, since I'm sure they were "looking" for sources slanted left. From a global POV, most of my liberal friends quote things from the BBC - but I read the NYT which is far better, and I can usually point out where their articles have gone wrong.

(2) Because you are married, you qualify for "over-25" rates from many insurance companies, including State Farm. For such companies, your insurance is literally the same as it would be if both you and Lauren were over 25. They consider marriage, parenthood, and age to be equal indicators of maturity that brings cheaper rates (although to be honest, I'm not sure how an unwed teenage parent is very mature - just my particular bias). Anyway, check it out.

I would say radio news tends to be more conservative than news on tv and in newspapers, though I don't know if it's conservative enough to say that there are more conservative radio shows than liberal ones. Rush definitley takes up a big chunk of the airwaves during midday though.

As far as games go, you would want the new mortal combat game that just came out, like me. But, those jerks desided not to make a game cube version. to which I reply NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Other things to look forward to: Metriod 2 and the new legend of Zelda game.

www.townhall.com and gopusa.com are decent places to start. The New Republic offers some fairly unbiased news, and if not, it's at least thought-provoking. You can always read Ann Coulter's columns too.

Media is one of those things that will attack and criticize whatever president is in office. If it's a conservative, the media will be inherently liberal, because questioning conservative ideas and practices makes you liberal. And vice-versa also applies.

I'm going to assume Rob was joking. For the record, Ann Coulter is not human. Possibly, she is a demon.

The media isn't really right or left slanting. It's just the news. Individuals are right or left slanting. It so happens that the vast majority of newspeople are out-of-the-mainstream liberals. That's an undeniable fact.

Two things happen as a result of this: (1) those people take extremem precautions to make sure they never come off sounding like the liberals they are since they know the popular ideal for journalists is that they be 'objective' and they think 'objective' means non-partisan. This sometimes results in anchors "over-correcting" their liberal bias and that may be where Jeff gets his claim that the new is right-leaning. (2) every once in a while, anchors show their true colors, like Dan Rather claiming that the fact his documents were fake didn't affect the fact that GWB is a son of privilege, etc. This gives media watchers like Limbaugh and others ammunition to perpetuate the myth that the whole media is an army for liberal ideals.

But Chris Matthews is a big liberal. Rather and Jennings are liberals. Paula Zahn and Anderson Cooper are big friggin' liberals. Fox news is the only place you'll find ideological conservatives behind a news desk.

If Jeff wants liberal news, tell him to turn on NPR.

I knew there was an MK game coming out, but I fogot when. I looked it up and there is no good reason that didn't come out on the cube. Especially since Nintedo is partnering with WarpPipe people to get something going for online service.

Which new zelda game? The minish cap one? Is that any good....It looks like a typical zelda game so I guess it should be good, but has anyone heard anything about it?

I have the demo for metroid 2, it came w/ my cube, so I will check it out. I need to play 1 first...and see how it works with my head...you know me and FPS, we don't get along to well with the headaches and not-blinking eyes.

I agree that NPR is rather liberal. Not necessarily the news it brings, but certainly many of its shows like "As it happens" or "Democracy Now!" are far to the left. I would say the Newshour with Jim Lehrer is fairly unbiased and objective, but that's because they make an effort to carry as many "liberal" news items as "conservative" ones and Jim Lehrer doesn't really let his politics out.
