The in-laws are leaving right now, should be just getting in the air, and I thought I would update you on the awesomeness that was our time with them.

Well, I have to say, I wasn’t looking forward to them visiting at first, but now I’m am very happy that they did, and very greatful for the work God has started in bringing healing to Lauren’s relationships with her parents. I loved being a part of that, and I hope that God weighs heavy on their hearts to continue to persue this hard, but rewarding path.

And I totally had like Super-Saijin faith points going on after they left last night. I told Lauren I was about to turn my hair yellow, and start glowing. (OH YEAH!!!…well we have a power level of like 2 million, and we can go SUPER-SAIJIN)

I have listened to considerably more John Piper in the last two weeks than I have before and I have some thoughts to share.

All-in-all, I’m feeling pretty confident about our church-plants chances in the shadow of that big chruch. It is often intimedating to plant somewhere where there is a renown scholar / preacher who has a huge chruch. For example I wouldn’t want to plant anywhere near Saddleback or Willow Creek. But here, I think Jeff’s style and attitude (the part that all of us here seem to share / enjoy) in how he preaches will attract people who don’t want to be in a church like Piper’s. And, we are a charismatic church, which Piper doesn’t have going that much for him right now despite his efforts for otherwise. So we got that going for us, and I feel good about that.

Next stop, figuring out / praying until I find out, where I fit in this stuff so I can contribute to the things we have going for us.

Aside: The in-laws are gonna be here in about two hours….and I am trying to open an honest dialoge with them about the past events that have been bad in Lauren’s life. I hope this goes well, and doesn’t cause more damage than is already there. I’ve been praying a lot about it, and I have prayed a whole hell of a lot about this over the last couple of years, and I think God is saying he wants good things for this family. But with this much disfunction I’m afraid of what bad can happen. Pray for me to have faith, and to be an amazing listener through their visit (both listening to them and my wife, and God’s voice).

To continue in my tradition of comparing stupid things that should never be compared….I think Anikin could own naruto in a fight, and Goku would beat both of them…..

But seriously…if they made a Naruto style fighting game out of this movie, Yoda would be the dog.

Well, lately I’ve been listening to a lot of sermons, and realizing a few things.
( whining...ignore if you want to )
I think maybe I’ll make this friends only since it is so damned whiny……ah, fuck it, I’ll just leave it how it is.

On the good side of things, I’m really looking forward to having dinner Saturday with xeyro and shesaid and their friends. I could use a fresh face. I love my church-plant team, and my co-workers, but sometimes interjecting a new friend or two is great for freshening up….maybe that will help me get up a little.

Also, I want to say on a positive side of my whining, I’ve been trying lately to let myself feel more.
( touchy-feely stuff, and a little happier, I promise )
Also, my in-laws are visiting next week. My father-in-law seems agreeable to discussing some messy things so we can have a better relationship. I’m not holding my breath that this will go well, but a while back I’m pretty sure God said things would get better in this family, and I would be there for it. So maybe I’m getting down because something big is coming and Satan doesn’t want me in on it….maybe I’m just not sleeping enough.

I’m in champaign, going to graduation in a half hour, probably gonna leave a little early and catch some lunch before I head home.

I’m about to leave work, and I’m high as a kite.

They freaking lacqured (sp?) something in another room and it has been stinking the place up for an hour and a half. I hope I’m ok to drive.

Besides that, this article is an extremely interesting read about young people (20 somethings) entering the workforce by getting involved in start-ups and being bought out. Very interesting, and not overly technical. Check it out if you get the chance.

Well, other than that, I removed the comment registration requirement, so please comment on my actual blog. I think it is easier now to do so, so give it a shot.

Well, 24 it is today.

I feel pretty darned good for a person is who getting up there in years.

Tonight I will rock w/ the quality Brews.

I also found out that my birthday happens to fall on international pantsless day (according to rschmit). So, I must wear shorts tonight.

Besides that, my wife gave me her presents yesterday and she gave me some awesome stuff. I got a bunch of DVD’s:
Top Gun
Stand By Me
Dogma
River Runs through It (preachers kids who fish….how could I not like this movie)
Finding Neverland (awesome movie…I’ll reserve judgement on the oscars until I see million dollar baby, but as of right now I think Depp was robbed)
and Super Troopers….the funniest movie most people have never seen. I’ve seen it like a million times.

Also, at the bottom of the DVD’s was one more DVD shaped package…and I was at a loss, cuz I don’t know what other movies she could have picked up that I like. It turns out that it is Mario Kart Double Dash….AWESOME!!!

So if anyone wants to play mario kart, or get lessons on how to ROCK at that game, just let me know.

So far…so good. Hope to see many of you out tonight around 7:30pm. Several co-workers are gonna be there. Good times.

Well, I have decided Wordpad is going to win. I can import all my entries from MT, and LJ, I can moderate comments better (no more typekey?), and all in all, it just looks like a better set-up.
( I Can cut my wordpress posts just like this too??? )
Birthday celebrations will begin at roughly 7:30 at the Town Hall Brewery, then around 9 to 9:30ish we are gonna bail and go somewhere else. So call me if you want to catch up w/ us after 9.
