Dad got out of surgery and we got to see him at about 3 pm and then again at 5. He is doing good everyone says, the surgery went exactly as planned. They said the cadaver valve and aortic stem fit just fine (they were worried about it being too short and having to use synthetics) and they didn’t have any problems. When we first saw him he had breathing tubes in and a bunch of other tubes including an IV into his neck (ouch >P ). Then when we saw him later he had the breathing tube out and could talk a little. He looks like hell, which is actually better then I expected. He had fairly good complexion, and was somewhat swollen, but all in all it was better then the picture of the blue frigid corpse-like picture he had painted for us…I guess he wanted to prepare us for the worst.
Thanks for all your prayers, I found an internet terminal in the hospital, so I’ll try to update agian tomorrow if there is any news.
Thank you, and Goodnight.

Is he coughing a lot? I remember when I broke my ribs my body just wanted to keep coughing. Which was really weird since it hurt so bad to cough with broken ribs. You’d think that the body would try and stop doing something that hurt so bad. Perhaps I was coughing so much because I had punctured my lung. hmm.. Well, I will continue to pray for your Dad. Take care.

I’m so glad that things went well. We all gave a sigh of relief when the phone call came in. Prayers will be continued for a speedy and full recovery. Now that you know your dad is ok, how are you doing? Going through that is very trying. I hope things are ok. I will be praying for you and the rest of your family, too.
