I found an LJ community for Minneapolis, it is called twin_cities and I joined it so I can see what is going on up there. Also, I’m looking for more places to snowboard when I’m there. It looks like there are a few places with in an hour or so, and they have season passes for $300-400, which isn’t too bad.
I know some people think I’m crazy for saying I’m going to head up there, and that is cool. Some people might be mad at me for one reason or another…maybe you feel like we’re bailing on you, or maybe you feel like I’m giving into pressure from Jeff or Lauren or something like that. And I want to say that is cool…I’m OK with people feeling that way…especially the crazy part, because I expected that….but I do want you to say something to me….either in a comment or personally, but if you have very serious concerns call me or come visit (hows that for an excuse to drive down Dink) and I would love to hear them, and take them under consideration, but whatever you do, don’t just hold it in on me, don’t make comments that half say something…just say it…let me know what you think, because I want to know.
Anyway, I need to sleep…my little brother should be comming this weekend, and EOH is tomorrow…and I need mad sleep before then.

So it’s 3 a.m. and I’m wasted as I write this. Basically all I have to say is fuck people man. If you don’t listen to you, and try and please everyone else all your life, you will only end up hating yourself. If Minneapolis-St. Paul is where you think you need to be, then so be it. Who are we to disagree? Life is only to be lived by the individual, and thus decisions are only to be made by the individual as well. The only caution I will offer to you is that you should definitely take a trip up there and scope out the job situation first. Not that you absolutely need a job first thing or will have trouble finding one, I just think that that extra bit of security would be extraordinarily comforting in an unfamiliar situation like you will be in.
Oh, and uh, O’Doyle Rules!!!

I have no stones to cast. After all, I left my home of 22 years and drove 22 hours straight with everything I owned to a place I had never been, with no job in sight, within a few weeks after making the decision to leave. If you have a peace and know that it is something that God is in, you will be just fine.

I’m with Rob on this *gasp*
First off, it’s pretty impossible for any of us to KNOW what God is saying to you. To do so would be pretty presumptious. If you *honestly* feel this is what is being said, then so be it.
At the same time, Rob is 100% correct. I don’t think jumping blindly into this is the best idea either. Sure faith is great and all, but when you have the opportunity to scope things out and prepare…you should take it. This has nothing to do with lack of faith and if anything, I imagine God would rather you make an informed decision and more importantly, be prepared when possible. And let’s be honest, it *is* possible to be prepared and informed of this.
In any case, good luck!

I think that’s a great idea. It sounds like Ben is already doing that. Ben… aren’t people going up for Spring break to ‘scope’ it out?
Hm, also… aren’t you guys moving after you’re married? That gives you almost six months! That’s Plenty of time to prepare for the actions behind your faith and obedience.
