Well, day two here in Minneapolis is running to a completion, and things are going pretty well. But for those of you who aren’t in the know of the events of the last few days I’ll lay them down for you.
Friday we left (later than I wanted) for Minneapolis from my families house. We went up rt. 67 from Winchester toward the Quad Cities. About 10 minutes outside of Rock Island Lauren lost control of the Ford (why or how yet to be determined) and went off the road, crashed into a rock filled ditch, still had her foot on the gas, so she continued up a hill, shaved the side of a tree, and got the car stuck on a fence post with both the passenger side wheels in the air. The car had to be flipped off the post to get it down. It’s totalled. Everything that was in the car is perfectly fine including Lauren (minus a few bumps bruises and a sore neck). More damage was done to our stuff after I loaded it into the BMW.
After three hours talking to some really cool cops, the tow truck guy, helping unload and roll the car, then reloading the BMW and the truck with the fragile stuff that was in the Ford (so it wouldn’t get broken in the truck of course) we were back on the road. We slept in Waterloo IA instead of going all the way to Minneapolis.
Saturday we arrived in Minneapolis at about 3, stopped by Jeff and Q’s, then signed our lease. Lauren went to the hospital for a follow up with Liz, and the team and friends of friends helped me unload the truck. We are currently in the process of unpacking that stuff.
This morning I went to Bethal, I’m sure Calvinist enjoyed the uncessary interjection of the personal beliefs of why God’s soveriengty is important, but quite frankly I thought it was a very poor argument, and detracted from my ability to listen to him speak. It is kinda annoying when a guy starts interchanging the words soveriegnty and grace / mercy, and it wastes everyones time with uncessary crap that doesn’t help, just convolutes the realities of life. It is kinda like me telling you that the most important thing in Christianity is my ability to choose to follow God. It just isn’t true, relevant or necessary. That guy annoyed me…and he looked like a muppet. I don’t think I’m going back to Pipers Church. Plus it was a little dry IMO for the worship, and wordy in the prayers and stuff like that.
Now we are at Jeff and Q’s. We had a great team meeting. It is cool that everyone is here. But now I must get ready to go back to my appartment because my wife can’t slow down for five minutes to let me update my blog without telling me how we “have” to get everything unpacked as quickly as possible, or else her head is going to explode or something.
So there you have it. More to come after I get internet.
P.S. I named this “Jesus is Fjucking Metal” because Lauren didn’t die in that car accident, and she probably would have had the car been a few inches in either direction, or if the fence post had hit the gas tank instead of getting lodged around the front axel.

good thing no one was hurt, no? But after this wouldn’t it be a sign maybe not to rush things and unpack slow like? WWJD man…WWJD! I know what he’d do….he’d float around a bit, smile huge like and enjoy some sort of cheese product or by product instead of rushing around. Yeah…that’s exactly what Juju would do.

Oh MY! I can assure you that I’m praying for you two each step of this journey. I wish I was there to actually pray WITh you. But for you will do 🙂
YIKES!!!! I’m so glad taht Lauren is ok. Please send her my love, and hug her for me. WOWEE. What a trip! I’m sure that you both were just amazingly floaded with emotion and distress.
I thought it was intresting to read about your Calvanist experience. What made you decide to go there? I went to my ma’s church today. Its foursquare. I’m going to try a vinyard church next week. Her church was nice, but it was a lil too small and a little too…married and older people. SO, i’m gonna check out a vinyard church, see how that is. If I dont like it then i’ll try the local baptist church.
Church shopping…no fun! I miss Saddleback a lil.
Well, just wanted to let you know that I’m praying for y’all and tell Lauren hello, and Im glad that she made it through safely.

O_O
I’m at least glad she’s ok and I hope things will pick-up (in a good way) from here.
Take care of yourself (and Lauren) and be careful :-/.

I’m glad Lauren’s ok and you’ve made it safely to Minneapolis. 🙂 Take it slow with unpacking – it will really take weeks to settle down.
Anyway, I’m surprised you didn’t like John Piper’s Church – he is very famous and so is the church, apparently. Ah well, soon your vineyard will be started up anyway. ^_^

Thank goodness Lauren is all right – that’s the extremely important part. I wish a speedy recovery to Lauren for her minor injuries. Glad to hear that you made it up to Minneapolis and hope you enjoy it ^_^!
