Shameless Plug

So I found out about this deal that sounds like one of those dot com busts from the late nineties, early 2000 eara of the internet, but it appears it is legit, so I’m going to plug it.

What it is, is a deal to get a free Ipod, and you can pick from any of the Ipod mini colors or the 20gb Ipod, or $250 worth of free tunes from itunes store. I saw this on Kevin Roses blog and he actually got his gift certificate for the itunes. He is a guy who checks this kind of stuff out and reports what he finds back to the general public.

So it is legit it looks like, but where is the catch is what you should be asking. The catch is that you have to sign up for one of those trial offers from their list. They have a bunch of stuff on there, a lot of it looked lame, but one of them sparked my interest enough to keep going. They have a 2 week free trial on Blockbusters home movie service. This is a deal where they mail you a DVD and you mail it back to them when you are done watching them. The deal isn’t bad, you can have up to three movies at a time, and it is a two week free trial, and 19.99 a month after that. You have to cancel before the end of the two weeks or else they automatically bill you, but I figure that isn’t a big deal because you can cancel it on their website from the “my account” section. Also, they give you a coupon for two free in-store rentals.

Anyway, besides signing up for that, you have to get 5 people to sign up under you. This deal with blockbuster doesn’t suck, and I am going to maybe try to sign Lauren up (if I can…cuz it says one trial per household) later on.     Julie’s dad has that. So they have new movies all the time…i think he burns the DVDs before giving them back…she doesn’t know how she feels about that yet.

    Good luck with that…and sorry i don’t have money enough to help you with your iPod.

    Yes, well, even for those with Ipods, the $250 from itunes looked good to me.

    Besides, with two free weeks of movies, I figured…ahh what the hell, I’ll give it a shot. Pyramid or no, it doesn’t appear to suck too bad, and I haven’t got any spam yet from them…so that is good.

    Well, after this trial is over with blockbuster I’ll see if I can sign up Lauren, and we can sign up under you. So that will help.

    I think for people who aren’t interested in the blockbuster thing, but are interested in the Ipod, you can just sign up and cancel right away. I almost did that, but Lauren said we should try out the movie offer.

    Anyway, it says you and Kari haven’t completed the trial thing, maybe that is just because it hasn’t registered though. I don’t know…anyway…don’t worry about it too much, and thanks again. I have three people now….two more to go.

    I didn’t even have the Blockbuster option so I went with stamps.com
    Anyway, no I’m not verified yet for some reason. Hopefully soon.

    I found out that if you cancel right away without trying the product they may put your account on hold, so it is best to let things ride out for a week or so and then cancel. It makes me glad I decided to actually try out the blockbuster thing.

    Just an FYI for everyone trying this.
