So some guy from down the hall vouched for me and I voted for that crazy Christian freedom guy.
I’m stoked I got to vote, and I didn’t even write in my Dad because there was a guy who sucked much much less than the two main parties bozos.
Anyway, I did like a lot of the pro-action / social justice things that this guy was all about, but of course like most liberal people he had no plans, policies, or concept of fiscal responsibility to the people in the country who wouldn’t benefit from social Justice programs.
The biggest mistake he made, and that a lot of people make is to say that “Politics is religion and religion is politics”. This is an absurd statement, and anyone who thinks this needs to read or re-read church history and see the mess that is made from this. Our government is based on secular ideals, the idea of church and state came about partially because Jefferson thought religion was bankrupt. Religious people desired it to be free from the states control, which Christians often emphasize.
The principals of government can be based on our religious morals, but it cannot be dictated by a religious minority. So to say that religion = politics is silly.
That guy isn’t going to win, but pushing major parties to listen to Christians who don’t agree with partisan ties to corporate America is more important than worrying about a mans religion dictating his politics. Besides that his politics aren’t bad at all for a person who thinks religion = politics = politics.
Man, I’m happy I got to vote, makes me feel a little more like a true American. I always feel good about voting. Even if I don’t want anyone I voted for or saw on the ballot to win.

Yeah, well he was about a lot of the stuff we agreed about, and like I said a while back, sometimes you have to vote for a person pushing the issues past where you want them to go, just to make the politicians stand up and take notice that there are people willing to go that far to make a point. I still didn’t like everything he said, and his platform was really tiny, but he said more stuff I liked than the other guys.
