Rumble in the Bubble

Ralph said Saturday would be fine so we postponed the call until 3pm tomorrow. Not looking forward to that, but I am looking forward to the Christmas party tonight. I still need to call my clinical psychologist cousin for a little advice on how to approach a situation where the other party is in denial, and also for resources about co-dependant abusers and enablers, and narcasistic abusers. I’m somewhat encouraged by the things people said yesterday, so thanks for that.

Hmmm…other than that work is busy today. I’m a little worried I’m dropping the buck and my boss is going to get pissed at me. I need to figure out how to read his mind….then everything would be good cuz I’d know exactly what he wants and how he wants it done. Until then I just need to get better at my job.

I am a little depressed about the fact that I got an email today from a recruiter I spoke with about the time I interviewed for this job. He said that there had been some hiring delays at the company he represented but they are back on track and want to move forward with reviewing candidates. He wanted to know if I was still interested. I kinda wish that would have happened a long time ago, cuz that is a factory job with Cummins making power generators. I think I would have been good at that, probably better than I am at this job. Well at least this job forces me to use the phone more to call random people, which I suck at and dread, so I have to get better at that….improvement is good.

Besides that I’m going to probably upgrade my webpage hosting to use MySQL instead of SQLite. It cost $30 per year to do that, but I don’t think I mind since my database will be hosted in a more powerful and flexible enviornment and I’ve been meaning to donate some money to them since it is a non-for profit organization, and this will basically remind me to do it every year since it costs them nothing extra to add me to their database list. Anyone who wants cheap, fairly flexible web hosting with shell access, check out freeshell.org. That is where I host my site. Maybe before too long I’ll have my site back up, with less headaches when upgrading because MySQL is much better supported and documented all over the place, and it has the “alter” command which SQLite didn’t have. That will simplify everything a lot when adding my plugins to thread my comments.

Hmm….something fun to make people comment….that is what this post needs. Ah, I know!

What is your favorite kind of Christmas cookie, and where can I get the recipe…since we are making Christmas cookies tonight (BTW, anyone reading this is invited to that party….bring anyone you want…pack out Jeff and Q’s place, that would be cool…the more the merrier and I want to meet some new people).

Hope everyone is having a less frustrating and confusing week than I am….it wouldn’t be hard.
