I’ve been all about the cool applications lately, especially web apps. (Ask me about non-web applications like asterisk sometime).
I saw this cool demo for an open-source app called zimbra today, and it looks sweet.
It is an app designed to bring MS outlook functionality to your web browser, while coupled with an open-source alternative to MS Exchange server on the back end. And, if you have ever seen how cool outlook + Exchange can be, you will really dig this.
Anyway, go to that site, check out the demo. It is sweet.
Mostly I’m posting about this to remind myself later what is free, that is out there, that I can use to improve our work system, and to implement at church when we grow big enough to have multiple people on staff, and some offices.
There are other cool web apps out there, and I would love to learn more about them, so if you know of a cool one, post a comment to let me know, so I can check it out.
