We had a good weekend, having a party, owning Mario Kart (I never get tired of that) with my two new Wavebirds (they were on sale), and then Saturday I went and handed out food to homeless people on the street. I think next time I want to do that and it is cold I’m going to find somewhere warm where the homeless people come to me though. We watched a lot of 24, what a great show, bought comics, bought beer and found a place that sells oatmeal stout. I caught up on Naruto (BTW, when do the new ones come out usually?), and that show is cool right now, not amazing, but definitely fun. It should be fun after 112 episodes of it.
Spent a bunch of time talking with my Dad Saturday afternoon when not buying comics or watching 24. I’m bought a couple books off of Amazon called “Good to Great” and “Built to Last” both by the same guy, about building good teams, and visionary leadership. Should be a good read, Dad can’t stop talking about “Good to Great,” and I’ve been meaning to read it, so that is cool. Dad did a lot of telling me to learn how to be a better follower (like the stuff I wrote about last week). Saying stuff about me needing to talk to Jeff about where he sees me fitting into the church-plant. I thought that was good advice, so I scheduled an appointment with him to talk about that. Sometimes my Dad is really cool. It’s too bad his talents and vision have been wasted (maybe not “wasted” but it feels that way sometimes) on small churches who can’t think big….I hope I don’t feel that way when I’m his age, about my life or my church. I’m just gonna hope that it doesn’t turn out that way for me. Besides, he’s only 50, he’s got time to stretch out and do more that he wants to do, and I think he will when God gives him direction to get out of the Methodist Church.
I talked to James before the party for a good long time about some of that stuff too, and he was really helpful. (BTW James, I was an 8, and I scored high in 3, 7, and 9 as well….about what you expected, and I got ESTP for the first time ever, but it was 50 / 50 split between the S and N…that matches with what I said in my blog about decision making, but the description wasn’t as good for the type, send me a link sometime to a good version of that test…I didn’t trust this one) He prayed for me too, and that was great. I got to feel all tingly in blockbuster….not every day that happens to you.
Sunday was fun, good church time, except the new building is cold. I read the first few pages of power healing, which was cool, I identified with Wimber in some of how he used to feel about prayer for himself. Then we drove around town looking for Chineese place. I’m freaking amazed at how many places were closed on Sunday. Crazy…I drove around for an hour and a half. Then I watched the Vikings lose at Jeff and Q’s. That was good times.
That was the weekend….good times, noodle salad. And now I have lots of candy from the party…anyone want some.
Oh, While I’m thinking about it…does anyone want me to bring my GameCube tonight with Mario Kart….I have it till the end of the week. I can give tutorials on the differences between this one and the 64, I used to do that on the dorm floor….made dirk the Mario Kart player he is today that way.

Naruto usually comes out Friday Night or Saturday’ish. Go to Animesuki.com and just look for the release by “ANBU.”
