Well, I have decided Wordpad is going to win. I can import all my entries from MT, and LJ, I can moderate comments better (no more typekey?), and all in all, it just looks like a better set-up.
The plugin development looks great. I just found a guy who wrote a plugin so that when I post to wordpress it automatically cross-posts to my LJ, complete w/ “lj user”, “lj-cut”, mood, and “currently listening to” support. Also, I have found tons of picture based blogging addins, which is much easier w/ PHP than it is w/ static pages generated from PERL scripts. And, it auto converts emoticons to some brand of smiley icons (thats automatically included), and there is a plugin to enable the CSS-based playing card symbols for poker blogers.
That means I’m thinking about tearing down my whole website…even gallery. So, Dink, back up ur shit. Everyone else, if you like a post, write down the name and date of it, because it will reappear under a different directory structure.
Finally, after wordpress gets the ability to control multiple blogs from a single installation, I’m going to tweak it in several ways. 1. Podcast-based blogging, where the main page is a list of recent audio files, and links to more pages w/ info about the file. Possibly having comments for each audio file. Then I want another one w/ upcoming events in a calander format. Each post will show up on the front page (in a calander / current month format) w/ links to more indepth info about each event. Then I want wordpress to also control a photo-blog, but I’m not sure how this is going to look yet.
Birthday celebrations will begin at roughly 7:30 at the Town Hall Brewery, then around 9 to 9:30ish we are gonna bail and go somewhere else. So call me if you want to catch up w/ us after 9.

What I need now is a tool to translate between the various pseudo-markups I use. With livejournal, slashdot, and who knows what other online forums all supporting different subsets of html, not to mention the increasing prevalence of wiki syntaxes, and the traditional *bold* and _italic_ marks of plain text email, it is no surprise that I occasionally catch myself signing an email with ~~~~.
