What would be cool

I’ve been working on this not-so-small idea about how to apply technology to most aspects of church, and do it on church budgets with church people (i.e. mostly non-technical people), and I was thinking; wouldn’t it be cool if this actually worked out, and I used these ideas (and hopefully someday their implementation within our church) to help other churches do the same thing.

I think between Aaron and I we could cover most of the bases to set up even a fairly large church with a load of tech-stuff.

Aaron could cover most of the mid – to – high end audio and video needs of a church, and with my assistance we could future-proof it by making sure to purchase IP based technology (that means plugging things into networks and beaming them across it to other parts).

I could cover computers, the rest of the video stuff, networking, telephony, software for web, calandering, email, voicemail / phone routing, etc.

And we could do installations too. This would start small, mostly with smaller to mid-sized newer churches, and then branch to big churches, and older churches.

Just a pipe dream I suspose, but it would be interesting.

For now I need to sink some time into finishing some projects I started, and then writing down some of these ideas in a cohesive form. I hate when ideas just float in your head and you have a hard time explaining them to people. I find it better to take time and really think out some outlines and detail them out that way when they get too big to talk about in a short amount of time. Sooner or later those ideas will appear on this blog. So stay tuned.
