Since no one seemed really interested in my Computers 101 idea from before, I’m just going to go ahead working on my project in my spare time.
But, Josh 3 seemed interested in taking a look at how Linux installs and what-not, so tonight I’m planning on using a little of my free time to run through a setup and install of Ubuntu Linux.
So, if you’ve ever wanted to play around with Linux, and see how it looks, and installs, or anything like that, without the hassle of messing with your own computer, come on by.
I’m thinking around 7 I’ll start working on things, getting hardware ready to roll and what-not. If your interested come by around then.

The ever changing style sheets of Ben Catlin. That almost sounds like it could be the tag line for a pun-filled, sordid, geek soap opera. You are in my RSS feeds which means you hold a special place in my heart.
In any case, a Linux install does sound like a good time. I haven’t done one in a long while. I would stop by if I didn’t have small group tonight. I hope everything goes well.

Thanks,
I’m glad I share a special place on ur RSS feed and therefore your heart.
With free themes for wordpress abounding, and my leaning towards stylistic boredom, I find it fun to switch every once in a while. Plus, this theme aimed at making a simple style sheet to change things, without having to seriously re-work the entire theme…which is nice, less php for me that way.
The install went well. My hard drive I picked up from the recycling place was crap, so I scrapped my email server instead, and got it all up and running. Now the only thing hindering me from using this on a more serious basis is the lack of a KVM and permanent mounting space….i.e. I have no case to fit this board into. I’m susposed to be getting a case form a guy at work sooner or later, he just needs to clean out his office at home.
In general I have to say I like Ubuntu on my first impression. Install was minimalist as a debian based distro should be, but once it was running it did look pretty.
