Minneapolis

So I went to Minneapolis with Jeff for a chuch planting conference. I don’t know if I’m going on the church plant with Jeff, but he needed someone to drive there with him, and Lauren and I are contemplating going so I thought it would be a good chance to go check things out. So we drove up to Chicago and dropped his daughter Brianna off with his parents and then continued up I-94to Minneapolis. When we got there I we saw some Sweedish folk music at a Vineyard in a south suburb. That was pretty cool, the people looked like they were having a lot of fun performing and that usually goes a long way in my book. So after that we went out and had a local pastor drive us around so we could check out the campus scene on a Friday night. The city/campus looked really nice, and it was a lot of fun to see where this pastor is currently holding his service.

After that we went back to the hotel, watched some Connan and crashed. Next morning we woke up and got to the conference about 20 minutes after we were supposed to be there, but the funny thing was that there were three other people pulling in at the same time. We walked in and found out that people being late was built into the schedule, or as Jeff liked to call it “Vineyard standard time”, and that was great, cuz I’m always late. So I felt at home already. Then we moved on into worship and the conference started. I learned a lot of neat stuff, and kinda got a better feel for the denomination as a whole as compared to just what I’ve seen from our church. I met a lot of great people during lunch, and I really enjoyed getting to know some people who are amped to be planting churches since they are the people who really are dedicated.

We bolted a little early so we could get a jump on the trip home. The trip home was a good ride, talked a lot about random stuff the whole way up and back with Jeff, and that was cool. We stopped at a place called the “Mousehouse” where they, of course, sold a lot of cheese.

I did my devotions for the last few days, I just haven’t had time to write them up on my blog, so I’m debating even doing more then yesterdays and todays when I get home from work. But I might go back and add them all if I have the time, we shall see. But I wonder if anyone cares that I missed those days, so if someone really wants me to go back and add them maybe I will.

But now I must stop flapping and go to class.
