UPS has on the last two deliveries to our apartment failed to post a notice that they delivered it to the office. So I’ve had my parents Christmas presents sitting in the office for three days with no notice. Only when I tracked them (as an aside did you know you can punch tracking numbers into google and it will find the tracking info for your), did I find out they were delivered on the 28th. Well, the office is closed today of course, so my parents are a little upset that we haven’t received the presents and aren’t going to until next week. This happened with the last shipment from amazon where the office eventually sent us a note that said “pick up your package that has been here for days.”
The most ridiculous part is that these guys are paid to deliver packages, and they never even ring the buzzer downstairs to see if we were home (which we were since we have been sick all week), so they aren’t even trying to do their job right…their just seeing the controlled access and going to the front office and dropping them off. Stupid bunch of crap. I think I’m going to send a nasty email to UPS, expressing my dissatisfaction with their service.
I feel a little better today, other than the congestion and sore throat. My fever is down, I’m coughing less tonight, and it is not hurting to move as much.
We watched “Garden State” and “Napoleon Dynamite” tonight. I liked both movies OK, but they were really kind of let-downs after all the hype. I didn’t think Garden State was that interesting, and it falls into the category of weird movies that are popular right now that have a different tempo between the movie and the story. I kinda lump “Lost in Translation”, “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “Punch Drunk Love.” Here me say that these are not similar movies in there stories, but similar in the way they are filmed…the way the feel when you watch them…almost like there is an odd discord between different elements of the movie. Napoleon Dynamite was funny, just not nearly as funny as I had hoped.
The biggest reason I’m posting tonight is because a new version of my posting software (Zempt) is out and I want to test it, so if this posts all nice it will be a good thing.
Thats it, except, happy New Year everyone, hope your 2005 is as good as my 2004 was. Especially my friends and family who are getting married.
